Project Summaries
In January 2020, an open call for proposals was made to all Global campus regional hubs and their larger networks to submit research proposals on children’s rights. In 2020, we received 34 proposals coming from the 7 regions of the Global Campus network as well as from Right Livelihood laureates. Of the projects received, 28 of them were funded, with some being multi-year projects and others being single year projects. Some of the projects have since come to an end and new projects have been taken on. Currently we have 17 projects still ongoing:

CHILD - LED CONFERENCE: 31 January - 1 February 2022
The Global Campus together with the regional hubs organised the first ever child -led conference that ran under the theme ‘Mental Health: Children’s Perspective on Challenges and Ways Forward’. The conference was held online from 31 January to 1 February 2022 and registered 335 participants with 223 of them being children. It was designed and run in partnership with Kathmandu Law School and brought together participants including child rights experts, academics, representatives of NGOs and INGOs, members of the UN CRC Committee, and the UNSG Special Representative on violence against children. Of the child participants 111 of them were the core organizing team. The 111-child core team was made up of 67 girls and 44 boys, all between 10 – 18 years of age. They voluntarily participated and were selected from Asia (Nepal, India), Africa (South Africa), the Arab World (Lebanon), Caucasus (Armenia), and Latin America (Brazil, Chile, Ecuador) by the GC Child Rights Regional Officers from formal and informal schools, and youth clubs.
PROMOTING HUMAN AND CHILDREN’S RIGHTS EDUCATION AT MOLDOVA STATE UNIVERSITY
The project aims to support the promotion and protection of human rights, democracy and sustainable development in the Republic of Moldova through innovative human rights education activities, with a particular emphasis on the rights of children, youth and next generations and thematic focuses on the impact of new technologies and climate justice. This project is part of the GC Capacity Development programme and represents the first step towards the integration of Moldova State University into the Global Campus of Human Rights as a full member of the Caucasus regional hub, to be achieved by the 2024/25 academic year.
GLOBAL STUDY
The Global Study Programme has focused on the dissemination and follow-up of the study by supporting key stakeholders in the implementation of its recommendations. In regard to dissemination, the global study programme has implemented 40 International, Regional and National events and launches to support key stakeholders i.e. Governments, International organisations, civil society and academia. Approximately 20 global study projects have been implemented, from country level implementation to creation of resources. Projects in the Caucasus, South Africa, Austria and Nepal to name a few. Executive summary, MOOC, toolkits and other deliverables. Most recently, the 170 NGOs, UN Interagency task force and other actors have created a roadmap for the implementation and look forward to collaborating with the GC in numerous activities.
